IMG_8577Today I was reading the Sunday Times “Body & Soul” magazine and stumbled across a fairly interesting article about algae being a good source of protein. As protein is the most substantial part of my diet, I was of course interested so read on.

According to the article, at this year’s convention of the Institute of Food Technologies in the US, scientists picked algae, quinoa and legumes as their top choices for a non-animal protein hit.

So what is algae? In Australia, seaweed, spirulina and chlorella are readily available and good food sources of algae and therefore provide a protein hit! OH YEAH!
