Blaze Pizza- Worthington.

Last week I was offered an amazing opportunity to celebrate the “sneak peak” opening of Blaze Pizza (on Sunday) which will be opening in Worthington on Monday, 5 June. And of course, now that I am off prep I am very excited to be able to participate in some more media & food opportunities…and better still is that it is PIZZA!

To be honest, prior to the invitation, I hadn’t heard of Blaze Pizza so looked into it online to see if it passed the healthy & delicious test…and it did! Blaze Pizza is perfect for anyone who aims to live a healthy lifestyle but still wants a treat every now and again, without ruining your diet completely. It would also suit anyone with food intolerances or those who are a little picky when it comes to their food. The blaze pizza website which can be accessed by clicking HERE contains all the nutritional information for each of the items on the menu but even better than that, it allows you to customize any items on the menu or “build your own” pizza or salad too!

After reading the menu from top to bottom, I have chosen two of their signature pizzas that I would like to try tomorrow;
1) GREEN STRIPE: pesto drizzle over grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, chopped garlic, mozzarella, arugula
2) BBQ CHKN: grilled chicken, mozzarella, red onion, banana peppers, gorgonzola, bbq sauce drizzle

I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to sharing my food adventure with you on both my Instagram (@simonemckennablog) & snapchat (@simone.mckenna) stories.

If you love pizza too and live in the Worthington area, be sure to head down to Blaze Pizza on Monday for their Grand Opening or swing by on Tuesday between 11am and 9pm when the team will be giving away FREE 11-inch artisanal PIZZA to anyone who likes them on their social media accounts!
So what are you want for: go ahead and add them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & Snapchat too!

Two 2 Train.

I absolutely loved filming in the city at GoodLife Gym back in May with my newly found swolemate, Sam. Although this was only a quick 30 minute workout in total, we managed to get some good footage and more laughs than we ever imagined possible!

We are planning our next meet soon, be sure to follow us for more workout clips and exercise ideas!

Treadmill, Bis & Tris.

Overhead extensions

Overhead extensions

This morning I hit the gym around 9am, starting with a short HIIT session on the treadmill. I ran 40seconds on at 13km/hr and then 20seconds off, resting on the edge of the treadmill. I repeated this for 20 minutes which spiked my heart rate and got me pumped up ready to smash Bis and Tris.

This mornings arms workout was as follows:
10x bicep curls (15kg barbell)
20x hammer curls (9kg dumbbells)
10x reverse ezy bar curls (2x 2.5kg plates +ezy bar)
15x overhead extentions (12.5kg dumbbell)
15x tricep dips (on bench)
15x tricep pull downs (on cables)
Repeat x4.
