Apple & Onion Pulled Pork.

  • 30oz, Boneless Pork Sirloin Roast
  • 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 150 grams onions, sliced
  • 2 medium granny smith apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 tbsp raw unfiltered honey
  • 250mL Fat Free Chicken Broth/Less Sodium No Msg
  • 1/2 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a small bowl, combine spices: paprika, cumin, cinnamon, salt and pepper
  2. Rub the pork shoulder with the spice mixture
  3. Make a bed of onions and apples at the bottom of the crock pot, and place pork shoulder on top
  4. Drizzle with honey
  5. Pour in beef stock and apple cider vinegar
  6. Cook on low for 8 hours
  7. When meat is cooked,begin to shred it by transferring it to a plate using a ladle- be careful, as it will fall apart easily!
  8. Transfer onion and apple mixture to a colander and drain it
  9. Keep a cup or two of the liquid, or enough to moisten the meat
  10. Combine meat, onion and apple mixture and add some liquid if necessary
  11. Serve & enjoy.
