Barcelona is a hip and happening bar, restaurant, cafe and lounge offering an amazing atmosphere and an incredible menu at extremely reasonable prices. It is located in Salamanca Place which is a well renowned tourist attraction in the centre of Hobart. Barcelona is a contemporary bar within sandstone walls and cathedral ceilings. Barcelona has both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor lounge is comfortable and elegant with a choice of lounge chairs, bar stools or table seating, whilst the outdoor area is inviting with wooden tables, benches and stools to accommodate any party size. Although Barcelona serves all day breakfasts, lunch and dinner we were lucky enough to dine here for dinner.

The menu was extensive which made it difficult to choose. As we had already had a day filled with lots of food, we opts to share an entrée of prawn skewers accompanied with sweet chilli sauce, limes and mixed lettuce leaves. For our main meal we shared the tandoori chicken pizza that was so flavoursome and was accompanied with a delicious natural greek yoghurt. The service, although friendly, was relatively slow, however our meal was so delicious (and cheap) we were not disappointed. Our meal was a total of $30 – can you believe it? The venue was busy and bustling which made for an energetic and vibrant atmosphere. In fact, it was this that attracted us to dine here tonight.

Barcelona is a venue definitely worth a visit should you ever be in the Hobart area.
