Tonight, after two long flights from Perth to LA we had to indulge in the best ice cream in LA. Now it’s not like we just stumbled across this amazing place- we had actually done our research! Let me set the scene.
Scott, being from Ohio, wanted to return home for the rest of 2015 and 2016 to give the USA a try since living in Australia for the past 4 years. Seeing as I am a die hard ice cream lover, when we first made the decision to move to the States, I began instagraming and “zomato-ing” the best ice cream places around. I stumbled across Jeni’s ice creamery in Ohio and I couldn’t wait to try it. On our first night here in LA, one of Scott’s mates suggested a dessert stop after dinner at Jeni’s ice-cream as it was a new place in LA that opened only months ago and was the only outlet open other than in Ohio. Boy were we spun out! Who would have thought?
Anyway, back to the review. Jenni’s ice-cream certainly did not disappoint. The place was small yet quaint and even boasted some quirky gifts and homewares in the back corner and some indoor stools to sit on whilst enjoying the ice cream. On a seriously cold night for LA standards, the small store was still busy with people in line for an ice-cream cone. An assortment of wafer, waffle and sugar cones were on offer as well as cups and the menu even boasted hot cocoa, coffee and frappes to cater for everyone!
The choice of flavours was incredible, all unique and special to Jeni’s icecream. I opted for a waffle cone with 1/2 scoop of Sweet Potato and Praline and a 1/2 scoop of the peanut butter with choc chips. Scott had the peppermint choc chip, Angelica had the lavender with dark chocolate and Eric chose the pralines and cream.
