This morning, to celebrate Mother’s Day, my family enjoyed breakfast at Dew’s Berry Cafe in Mandurah. I reserved a table for the four of us last week through a message on Facebook, in which the owner/chef was very quick to respond and accommodate my requests.

The American and I rode in to the cafe, located in the Smart Street Mall to meet mum and dad at 8.30am.

The weather was beautiful and sunny, although a little fresh, which made our morning coffee so much more enjoyable. Nothing beats a hot coffee in hand and a cool breeze on the face! In fact, it was the coffee at this cafe that brought us back for breakfast today. Mum and I caught up last week at Dew’s Berry Cafe for a coffee date and it was so delicious, hot and very well priced, so we decided to book and try it out for breakfast also.

IMG_9008Although the breakfast menu was small,  none of us struggled to make a choice from what was offered. Dad and I went for the Magic Mushroom, which was a grilled portobello mushroom topped with sautéed spinach leaves, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, a poached egg and crumbled feta.

Mum and Scott ordered the Perfect Pancakes, which came served with berry compote, maple syrup and cream. Of course the American added a side of bacon also!

The meals were generous in size, presented beautifully and so delicious. We all finished our meals and were completely satisfied with the food, service and atmosphere. The waitresses ensured our meals were to our taste and offered more coffee when we had finished the previous. How could we refuse another coffee when they were so perfect! I enjoyed a long mac before my meal and then a skinny flat white after breakfast and both were perfectly hot and delicious. I would probably go as close to saying that it is the best coffee in Mandurah!

We will most certainly return to Dew’s Berry Cafe, sooner rather than later. Although the menu seems  small, inside the cafe is a creative display filled with delicious cakes, slices, muffins, cookies and more, which are constantly changing flavours and varieties.
Next time we return, I want to try the fruit salad with muesli and yoghurt. It looks to die for!
