Yesterday, after attending the Arnold Classics in the morning, Scott and I decided to grab a bite to eat in Downtown Columbus. As parking was difficult near the Convention Centre, we decided to park in the Brewery District and just walk in to the fitness expo. On our way back to the car, Scott (who loves Mexican food) spotted this dimly lit but groovy looking Mexican Restaurant on S. High Street which we decided to try out.
As we walked in, our server seated us quickly in a booth and brought iced waters to the table. As we were in a bit of a rush, we quickly glanced over the menu and placed our orders. Scott went for the BIG Mexican ($12) which was a large flour wrap, filled with beef, black beans, rice, lettuce, mojito, banana peppers, cheese and avocado and topped with a generous serve of enchilada sauce and sour cream. Not to mention the side of spanish potato fries that complimented the dish. I opted for the Shredded Chicken, Avocado & Bean Salad ($11) which was a HUGE serve of mixed green leaves, corn salad, pinto beans, avocado, tomatoes and crisp tortilla chips. I was so delighted that the choices of “hot” or “mild” dressing came out on the side of the dish and that the tortilla chips were kept to a minimum.
Our meals were delivered quickly to the table. The service could not be faulted, with our server keeping a close eye on our water glasses and refilling as needed. We both ate our entire meal- although I was full half way through! It was just so good, I couldn’t stop. The fresh slice of lime accompanied the salad perfectly and was all the dressing I needed- although the sauces looked good too!
