This evening, I took the American to my favourite Japanese restaurant in WA- Aisuru Sushi. Aisuru Sushi is located in the heart of Northbridge on the intersection of James and William Street (opposite the Brass Monkey).

We arrived just before 6pm, as I know from previous experience that a “dine line” outside this venue is not unusual, especially on a Saturday night! Aisuru Northbridge do not take reservations! The venue is small, seating only 60, but they are fast at pumping out orders (that is prepared in their open kitchen) so the wait isn’t usually too long. We were lucky to be right at the front of the line, so upon opening we were shown to a table for two near the window and given the incredibly extensive menu. It was almost a little over whelming!

The American left tonight’s order in my hands so I took the liberty of ordering a combination of dishes that I knew we would both enjoy and share together. When our waitress came over to take our order on her iPad, I ordered us Miso Soup to start, followed by Salmon Sashimi served with a side of wasabi. From here we had the Chicken Karaage – marinated and fried tender chicken thigh, topped with slices of sweet tamago egg, and drizzled with spicy mayonnaise sauce on a bed of white rice. Our final dish was the Ultimate Philli Roll. This incredible looking sushi was smooth cream cheese and crisp cucumber wrapped in nori and shari, topped with seared salmon and sliced red onions, drizzled with mayonnaise and unagi eel sauce, and spinkled with shichimi togarashi flakes. This sushi was honestly amazing, by far the best I’ve ever tasted.

Aisuru Sushi on UrbanspoonOur order came out one after the other and extremely quickly. The miso soup was at our table as soon as our order was placed! Although we appreciated the quick service (as I was hungry) this certainly isn’t the venue to come to if you are hoping for a lazy, long dining experience. Everything that we ordered was presented beautifully and tasted even better than it looked! I am so glad that the American finally got to taste the most delicious Japanese restaurant in WA. Aisuru is a fully licensed venue, in a convenient location that offers great quality food and excellent, fast service. If you are ever in Northbridge or Subiaco, Aisuru Sushi is a must try!
