Yesterday, the American and I caught the train into Perth City to spend the afternoon together simply grazing on good food and drinking wine at different venues in the Perth CBD and Northbridge. We stumbled across The Heritage Brasserie in Brookfield Place, as we started our stroll towards the city. After having a quick glance at the menu, displayed outside, we decided it was too good to pass by. There was a wide variety of options from seafood, chicken, duck, beef, sandwiches, entrees and more- not to mention their extensive beer and wine menu too!

We were shown to our table located by the front window by our waiter before he gave us menus and took our drinks order. I opted for a glass of French Rose, whilst the American went for the Blue Moon Beer. Our drinks arrived shortly after ordering and the waiter began to take our lunch order. He was very accommodating in answering my questions about some of the dishes. After much thought, I decided on the Marinated beetroot, pumpkin puree, caramelised onion, avocado & green beans dish, whilst the American opted for the Pastrami Reuben on Rye bread with a side of fries.

Our waiter brought us a basket of fresh bread and whipped butter to accompany our drinks until our lunch was served. The decor was very tudor themed with dark wood floors and furniture, elegantly covered in white linen. Not to mention the gorgeous lighting displays- you must check out the gorgeous pineapple lamps! Oh and a bar to die for, located at the back of the venue.

Lunch

When our lunch was served, we were both very happy with our choices. My meal was small, but that was expected considering it was from the salads & started menu. The flavour was incredible, with the pumpkin puree so sweet and soft. Scott’s meal, on the other hand, was massive! He could hardly finish it, which I was secretly thankful for as it meant I could enjoy most of his fries!

After enjoying another beverage each, we decided to move on and find another venue to enjoy an after lunch cocktail. We were so happy we found The Heritage Brasserie for lunch. Although it was very quiet when we were there, I think it would have more of an atmosphere at night time and could possibly be better as a dinner stop, as most menu items were rather substantial. I am looking forward to returning and trying the salmon!
