IMG_0451Yesterday I met up with a friend and her gorgeous little girl at Kent Street Deli in Rockingham. We made an extra early breakfast date for 7am so as to fit in with her little ones sleeping times. I was pleasantly surprised that even at 7am (their opening time) the place was buzzing with people enjoying their morning coffee. And what a great coffee they serve! Hands down the best coffee I have had in a long time. I ordered an extra hot long mac and it came out exactly that- hot, strong and delicious!

We took a seat inside as it was a little crisp out, not that it stopped others from filling up the outside tables! We sat near the counter which allowed us plenty of room to pull up a high chair that they offered us with comfortable space to talk without being overheard by fellow customers. We glanced at the amazing menu for what felt like forever as I couldn’t make up my mind.

IMG_0449Everything that came out of the kitchen looked really good and smelt amazing. Claire opted for scrambled eggs on toasted ciabatta, while I ordered the pan seared salmon served with wild rocket leaves, avocado, quince and a poached egg on top. Both meals came out at the same time and within a timely fashion and we couldn’t complain about the portion size! Claire’s scrambled eggs came with two large slices of ciabatta and my salmon steak was cooked beautifully with a generous serve of avocado, mixed leaves and a perfectly poached egg.

IMG_0452We were both very happy with our meals and our dining experience at Kent Street Deli. The service was friendly and removed out empty plates quite quickly after we finished eating, which is always appreciated when dining with little ones who want to get their hands on everything.

When/if you choose to dine at Kent Street Deli be sure to allow yourself extra time wither before or after your meal to take a look at all the weird and wonderful homewares, kitchen utensils, candles and pottery items for sale. You can always rely on KSD to have the coolest little gimmicky gifts and the most up-to-date decorations for your home. I particularly love the potted succulents by Mrs Pott’s Perth! IMG_5294This wasn’t the first time I had eaten at Kent Street Deli, in fact Claire and I often meet here in the school holidays to catch up. I usually order the vegetarian breakfast, which is without a doubt the best vego breakfast going around!

Thanks for having us again Kent Street Deli, see you again no doubt!
