4 minutes to a better bod.

So you’ve probably heard the term TABATA training?  It’s nothing new, but a term that has been swept under the rug compared to ‘HIIT’ and ‘LISS’ as of late.  However, I’m here to remind you of what tababta training is and why is it the best kept secret for busy people with little time to exercise.
What if I told you that in just 4 minutes, 5 times a week, you could improve your overall fitness, increase energy, improve your metabolism and burn fat…fast!

screen-shot-2017-01-21-at-6-34-44-am

Join me for Sunday Brunch at  the Cycle Bar in Easton.

After the 10.30am cycle session tomorrow, I will be hosting brunch for all the riders. I have spent the last few hours baking you all Banana & Choc Chip Proat Muffins (which smell fabulous if I do say so myself!) and tomorrow I will be whipping up some deliciously healthy cupcake omelettes too. If you can’t make the class, don’t stress- I will be sharing the recipes online tomorrow, so be sure to check my instagram (@simonemckennablog) for updates!

If you haven’t yet tried the Cycle Bar, get your first class for free on me!

HOT WORX.

img_6020OK- I have to share with you my latest obsession…HOTWORX at Planet Beach, Polaris.

Think of it essentially as a private hot box (big enough for 2-3 people to exercise in comfortably) that has a large TV screen that displays a variety of different programs that guide you through exercises and movements.  HOTWORX is the first ever fusion of infrared heat and isometrics and is a virtually instructed exercise program designed for users to experience the many benefits of infrared absorption, while completing a 30-minute workout session.

There are so many different exercise programs to choose from (and just quietly…there are more on the way) so there is bound to be something for everyone. Whether you want an intense workout, a foam rolling session, a good stretch or even just some “me” time- you need to try HOTWORX. Check out some of the programs on offer at Planet Beach Polaris.

AROUND THE BAR IN 30 DAYS- CYCLE BAR THAT IS!

764eb35c3ac31d2c524b3fbc_1200x600Nothing says New Year’s Resolution like a fresh passport. Before you roll your eyes and stop reading due to “insufficient funds” or “lack of time” or “no possible way of getting time off  work”… I have something in store for you that doesn’t require any of the above excuses!

Come along to the CycleBar in Easton and start your CYCLE PASSPORT!
The CycleBar team is offering some great incentives (and endless motivation) to work your way around the bar via their CycleStar Instructors. Each CycleStar Instructor brings something different to the table and with your passport, you get the opportunity to try them all.

Get ready to lose your old routine and clip into new rides, new instructors, and of course new beats. Every time you ride with a different CycleStar Instructor, they will mark your passport. Sounds like the motivation you need to get going right? All you have to do is go to five different instructors to make you eligible to enter their competition for the chance to win a night on the town and other prizes.

screen-shot-2017-01-05-at-6-24-37-pmBut don’t stop at one passport stamp. After you’ve redeemed your first, every ride after that with a new instructor is another chance to win! So if you work well with an incentive to keep you accountable or perhaps some motivation to workout this new year- get down to the Cycle Bar in Easton! Trust me, you will be hooked before you know it!

My CycleBar Obsession.

img_5609For those following me on snapchat (simone.mckenna) or Instagram (@simonemckennablog) you would know about my latest obsession with “spin” classes at the Cycle Bar in Easton.

I took my first class here in late November when a friend from the gym invited me to come with her as she was able to “bring a friend for free” and thought that I might like it. She was right! I left my first session feeling sweaty, inspired and sure that I would have to sign up for some more classes.

That same week I treated myself to 10 passes for future classes. I was very lucky in that the Cycle Bar in Easton was running a “New Riders Special” so I could take up the offer of a seriously discounted rate! And to this day, I am so glad that I did.

Reflect and reset!

Not everyday has to be awesome- but find something awesome in every day!

JPEG image-C0141C6A85AF-1This week has been “one of those” weeks.  No, I take that back… the last few days have been “a few of those” days. This week actually started off pretty great.
I trained super hard on Monday and ate really well too. I did F45 as my 5am fasted cardio then followed it up with a full day at school and then one of my best Chest & Tris workouts at the gym.

On Tuesday, I smashed three awesome sessions. I started my day with an F45 class, as my fasted cardio, then trained Glutes and Hammies after meeting a girlfriend for pancakes as my pre workout fuel and then a wicked Back & Bis session with Ali in the evening.
