Attitude & Gratitude.
Our attitude, whether positive or negative, plays a huge role in how others perceive us, how we perceive the world, and how we get through life. Our innate mind-body connection helps to prove that there really is a sense of "we attract what we put out.”
If we are constantly putting out negative statements to the world, whether it be scowling, feelings of hate, anger and frustration- we are most likely going to be attracting more of it into our lives. It is a sad, hurtful cycle that only we, ourselves, have the power to stop.
I posted last week about using positive affirmations in our lives. This is one small way we are able to undo negative attitudes.
Giving thanks for our hardships, problems and challenges is another way to change our negative attitude. It is another concept that seems difficult on first thought, but can be easily implemented into our lives to help deal with the world.
Whether you are feeling financial pressures, health issues, job related stresses, illnesses or so many other challenges we face in life- you have a choice. You can think negatively about it, (which ultimately won’t pay the bills or get you a pay rise!) or you can change your attitude about the situation at hand. I’m not saying you have to be happy about it, because we all know that’s hard to do. But you can practice the "attitude of gratitude."
“Thank you for giving me these challenges- I know they will teach me something. Thank you for this opportunity to achieve success."
At first, just the act of saying it aloud, may be enough to give you a little giggle. But just that alone, can give your attitude a boost. Laughter is good for you, so even if you do not truly feel grateful, just saying that you are may adjust things enough in the moment to get you through.
Similar again to affirmations, the longer you practice giving thanks for the challenges or struggles in life, the easier it seems to face future challenges. It also starts you subconsciously thinking about what you truly are grateful for and puts things a bit more in perspective.
The more you give thanks, the more the universe will give you to be truly thankful for! And after all- a good attitude costs you nothing!
