Positive Affirmations.
Affirmations are sentences aimed to affect the conscious and the subconscious mind. The words used to compose the affirmation (automatically and involuntarily) bring up related mental images into the mind, which could inspire, energise and motivate. Repeating affirmations, and the mental images that are brought about by these affirmations, affect the subconscious mind, which in turn, influences our behaviour, habits, actions and reactions.
WHAT DO AFFIRMATIONS DO?• They motivate.• They keep the mind focused on your goals• They influence the subconscious mind recall memories and thoughts• They can change the way you think and behave, and this can bring you into contact with new people, who can help you with your goals.• Positive statements make you feel positive, energetic and active, and therefore, put you in a better position to think and act positively.
TIPS FOR CREATING YOUR OWN AFFIRMATIONS:1. Make them in the present tense, as though they are occurring right now.Example: My surroundings have changed, but I have not- I can do this!
2. Keep them positive.Try to avoid using "no," "not," "never," "don't," "won't," etc.Example: To get pleasant results, I often have to do unpleasant things- It will be worth it?
3. If you can identify the negative thoughts that you play over and over in your head, try to design an affirmation that is the opposite of those thoughts.Example: Even though I dislike frustration, I can handle it.
4. Pay attention to how your mind and body react to certain affirmations. They will cue you in to which ones resonate the most with you at a particular time. If an affirmation seems to have lost its hold on you, create or look for a new one.
